1. Overview

3. Which data does the app process?

The app stores your content exclusively on the device: pieces and their metadata, imported PDF/ChordPro files and photos of your music, setlists, annotations, backing-track recordings with their jump marks, your name for live sessions (device name) and app settings. This data remains in the local database and app storage of your device.

4. No transmission to us or third parties

The provider operates no servers for this app and has no access to your data. There is no tracking, no analytics, no advertising and no sharing with third parties.

5. Live session over Wi-Fi

To rehearse and play together you can connect to other devices in the same local network (Wi-Fi/hotspot). Selected data (e.g. the current piece, the setlist and sheet files you deliberately send) is exchanged directly between devices, without going through the internet or a cloud. Your name and chosen part are visible to other members of the session.

The leader and their deputies also see which piece and page you have open, whether you are annotating, whether you raised your hand (with the reason you chose) and how you answer their “Ready?” question. When the leader checks who has music for their pieces (e.g. before sending a setlist), your device reports for each requested piece only whether you have a part for it (coverage). Your other pieces are not sent. Announcements from the leader (e.g. the next piece or a message to everyone) reach the session’s devices the same way. For this, an Android device in the group can open its own Wi-Fi network (band Wi-Fi); its name and password are then part of the group’s QR code.

6. Permissions

  • “Nearby devices” / local network: only to find and connect your ensemble’s devices on the same Wi-Fi.
  • Camera: only to scan the QR code when joining a group. No images are stored.
  • Photos / photo library: only when you choose “Photo from library” to import a photo of your music as a part. The app reads only the photos you select and keeps a copy of them in the app.
  • Wi-Fi configuration: to join your group’s band Wi-Fi.
  • Location (Android 12 and older only): Android requires this permission so the app can open a band Wi-Fi. The app does not read or store your location.
  • Notifications (Android): while you lead a session, Android shows a persistent notification so the connection stays up with the screen off. It contains no data about your members.
  • File access: to import your sheet files and recordings and for backups.
  • Brightness / keep screen awake: so the music stays readable while playing.
  • Sharing: to export files/backups via the system feature.

7. Backups

Backups and exports (including the automatic PDF export after rehearsals) are written locally or to a folder of your choice and are managed by you. You are responsible for the security of the storage location.

8. Installation via app stores

If the app is obtained through an app store (e.g. Google Play, Apple App Store), the respective store operator processes data under its own privacy policy. We have no influence over this.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction and data portability. Since we neither process nor store any personal data about you, we hold no such data; your content resides solely on your device, where you can delete it at any time.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy, for example when adding new features. The current version is always available in the app and on this page.
